Hana Tech Robotics Initiative: Enabling Libya’s Next Generation of Builders

🤖 Hana Tech Robotics Initiative: Enabling Libya’s Next Generation of Builders

From sourcing competition-grade robots in the US to running EU-funded coding academies — Hana Tech is democratizing technology across Libya.

🏆 Powering the First Libyan Robotics Championship: The Sonaa Al-Amal Story

When Sonaa Al-Amal Foundation (مؤسسة صنّاع الأمل) in Benghazi set out to host Libya’s first professional robotics competition under the FIRST Tech Challenge banner, they faced a critical obstacle: competition-grade VEX robotics kits were not available locally, and sourcing them required navigating complex international logistics from the United States.

Hana Tech stepped in as a strategic partner — coordinating the procurement, covering domestic shipping costs within the US, and ensuring the equipment reached Benghazi in time for the championship. This was a commitment to the belief that Libyan students deserve the same tools and opportunities as their peers anywhere in the world.

The results spoke for themselves. The Beyond Robotics team — a Hana Tech-supported team competing under the Lybotics program — took first place at the championship. But the larger victory was the precedent set: dozens of Libyan students experienced competing at an international standard, building, programming, and debugging under real pressure.

🎓 EU-Funded Robotics Training: Coding the Future with Amazonat Libya & CESVI

🇪🇺 European Union CESVI أمازونات ليبيا Hana Tech

In parallel, Hana Tech has been implementing a hands-on robotics and programming training program across Libya, in collaboration with Amazonat Libya (المنظمة الوطنية لأمازونات ليبيا) and the international NGO CESVI, with funding from the European Union. The program targets Libyan youth, equipping them with practical skills in robotics design, sensor integration, and programming — from block-based visual coding to text-based languages.

Participants learn to build and program VEX robots from scratch — covering motor control, autonomous navigation, sensor feedback, and competition strategy. By the end of each cohort, students have built a working robot and competed in a friendly in-class tournament, with many going on to represent their cities at national championships.

🌍 Where Social Responsibility Meets Innovation

At Hana Tech, we believe that democratizing technology means more than building products — it means actively removing the barriers that keep talented Libyans from reaching their potential. Whether it’s shipping VEX kits across the Atlantic or running free coding sessions in Benghazi classrooms, every initiative we support is a step toward a more capable, more connected Libya.

We are proud of every student who built their first robot, wrote their first line of code, and competed for the first time on an international stage. That’s the Libya we’re building.

About Our Partners
